Gordon Brothers acquired a large fleet of pipe-laying and related heavy equipment located in Argentina, Bolivia and Uruguay from engineering firm Odebrecht. This was the first deal engagement for Gordon Brothers in the three countries, representing our continued growth into the Latin American market. Due to the high complexity of this logistical project, Gordon Brothers was the only company capable of executing a transaction in the region and within the timeframe required by the seller. The equipment was transported by land from two remote site locations in Salta (northern Argentina) and Santa Cruz de la Sierra (northern Bolivia) to the port of Zarate on the Paraná River in Argentina, and then transported by vessel to the Netherlands alongside equipment in the port of Montevideo in Uruguay. The assets were transported to a custom warehouse in the free-trade zone of Antwerp, Belgium, to be sold to the pipelayer market in the Middle East and other countries in the region.
